Obama Administatrion Seizes Verizon Customer Phone Records

Obama was aware of the program. When a president get's accused of illegal activity, what does he do? He denies it, or covers it up, or blames it on sombodyelse. He has done none of those thingsin this case. He's defending the actions of the NSA and the FISA court. He's not running from the story in any way.

Took Nixon about six years to cook that one up. When the AP seizures were announce Obama defended them the next day. When the Verizon story broke, he defended it the next day. We should say that when the NSA and the congressional leaders, and the FISA court all argee on something, then it is legal (which is not necessarily the same thing as being right). It's as simple as that. I don't like it either. Strange story about power. When one guy unlocks the door and leaves it open, he IS at least as culpable as the guy who walks in behind him. I actually wish something would come of this, but it won't.

So why only Verizon? When can we expect these same orders to come down on AT&T, Sprint, and T-Mobile?

It is very likely that business records orders like this exist for every major American telecommunication company, meaning that, if you make calls in the United States, the NSA has those records. And this has been going on for at least 7 years, and probably longer.
