I see no facts in this article showing the Pres made the decision, the decision was most likely made by the secret service who's job is to protect him at all costs.

ill just toss this in here. most of the parade rifles ive encountered are disabled in multiple ways. welded, parts missing etc. just look up a cmp parade garand and the stated condition.

but ive not seen them missing the bolt completely. it may have just been a way to have active rifles be used in the parade when this unit didn't have parade rifles available.

I can find no credible source dictating an official order to remove bolts.

It's only insulting because it was obamas inauguration. If it happened with any other president this wouldn't even be a story.

It was the same way with Bush when he went to iraq to serve the troops a holiday meal, again, it has nothing to with who is prsident, it is the secret service who dictates who will be armed around the president.
