Why is the Obama administration threatening reporters who don’t like certain actions carried out by this administration, but generally support his politics? Will this type of reaction continue and will the public ever respond?

Woodward's Not Alone - Fmr. Clinton Aide Davis Says He Received White House Threat

WASHINGTON -- Bob Woodward isn't the only person who's received threats for airing the Obama administration's dirty laundry. It seems anyone is a potential target of the White House these days - even former senior members of the Clinton administration.

A day after Woodward's claim that a senior White House official had told him he would "regret" writing a column criticizing President Obama's stance on the sequester, Lanny Davis, a longtime close advisor to President Bill Clinton, told WMAL's Mornings on the Mall Thursday he had received similar threats for newspaper columns he had written about Obama in the Washington Times.

Davis told WMAL that his editor, John Solomon, "received a phone call from a senior Obama White House official who didn't like some of my columns, even though I'm a supporter of Obama. I couldn't imagine why this call was made." Davis says the Obama aide told Solomon, "that if he continued to run my columns, he would lose, or his reporters would lose their White House credentials."

Davis says he does not know if the White House official involved in his case is the same one who is alleged to have threatened Woodward, but he says the language used in both cases is very similar. In any case, Davis says his editor, Solomon, was not worried by the threat.
"He didn't take it seriously, because he didn't think that could ever happen. He thought it was bluster," Davis told WMAL. "I called three senior people at the White House, and I said, 'I want this person to be told this can never happen again, and it's inappropriate.' I got a call back from someone who was in the White House saying it will never happen again."
If it did happen again, Davis believes the administration did it to the wrong person.

"Firstly, you don't threaten anyone. Secondly, you don't threaten Bob Woodward," said Davis. "He's one of the best reporters ever. He's factual. You can disagree with facts that he reports, but he's factual. Don't mess with him about his facts. You can mess with him about the interpretation of his facts, but this is not a reporter you tangle with," he added.

I stand my my thread from a few days ago stating just how bad it's getting...

and that thread was BEFORE ICE let out a crapload of detainees and before this whole mess with the 1st Amendment attacks too.

I'm telling you people, this is the most insane I have ever witnessed an administration. Pretty scary stuff.

It's just getting started. They no longer have a need for the media's "help" since there is no further election to win.

And the sequestration shenanigans won't reveal themselves for awhile yet. They've had 18 months to plan, this ICE business isn't even a drop in the bucket. He's got 21 months to cause all manner of mayhem and his last two years won't be long enough to get him impeached for anything, but I really think he'll end up postponing most of it until he can get past the 2014 elections just like he did with Benghazi. If that happens look the hell out in the last two years.

I think that Bob Woodward, David Gergen and anyone else that challenges Obama had better make sure that their "LIFE INSURANCE" policies are up to date and paid up. The Obama/Chicago Way Enforcers(lib MSM) are out and gunning for them. :rollingla

Woodward will regret nothing. He should probably regret his first book about Bush because it was a little embarassing in its praise for the great man. Woodward regrets nothing because he always manages to make everything about Woodward, and the more things become about Woodward...$$$$$.

Nobody told Woodward that he'd be hung by his thumbs in the dungeon by Guido. He was told he would regret a story. Seriuosly, telling Woodward that he'll regret something he's written gives Woodward too much credit. Woodward will regret nothing.

Most of you guys are probably too young to remember 1972-74 when Woodward saved the world at great personal risk to himself.
Now he may be limited access to this President, the way he was to the previous president.
His access may become limited. The whole polititian/reporter dynamic was just a game of patty-cake till Obama came along.

Woodward needs a hug.

Ignerntbend- did you read the article? It does not focus on Woodward, but Lanny Davis.

It doesn't focus on Woodward but Davis hitches his wagon to Woodward's star.
The whole idea of "Chicago" type threats? Not real threats at all. Business as usual.
Those guys are playing a rough game and its the same as it ever was.
Davis and Woodward need to open a floral shop.
