Good friend had a pointer looked just like her. "Rusty" had a low point, rock solid, would not move. That coloring is the best camo ever.
We would lose Rusty and start circling and searching. Papa had a solid white English Pointer. As soon as he spotted Rusty, he would lock up. If it hadn't been for having a bird dog pointing dog, we may have never found him.

My Brittany got hit by a truck in 2016. I’ve only been behind a bird dog once since then. Many, many miles behind her and my GSH before that. I miss it sometimes.

I was wondering the same thing. I've got a half pointer/lab that was part of a buy one get seven free special 12 years ago. Average bird dog in her prime, but shes kept a good eye on my kids the whole time. Had mostly English pointers before her. Probably will start a pup soon.
