One of my most favorite places in the world. 10k feet in southern CO.

Nice. Noticed there is a campground nearby...is it heavily used?

At times it can get busy but I have never seen it full. Of course it is busiest in June and July.

There are actually two lakes there and within walking distance between the two. Both Blue Lake and Bear Lake have Forest Service campgrounds. We've camped in that area and over at Purgatoire River Campground (no lake, just the river) and have enjoyed them all.

No hookups and somewhat limited if one has a large RV. We've generally camped in them all in late August and early September, prior to Labor Day. At those times, there are generally open places for camping. Not sure for earlier in the summer.
