I have bought watches at garage sales that truly needed a good cleaning, had "wrist jam" on the backs. Actually used it as leverage to bring the price down. Grossing out people does work to a degree. As for the Hammy I got from you, your impeccable hygiene at watch meets and purchase from you that day me feel comfortable enough to wear it without an alcohol or water wash. Kudos for paying attention in your health classes...
Actually I have bought EDC carry stuff from @Glock 'em down. No funny smells or weird stains on it, so I do think he has good hygiene as well... did smell a bit like donuts though...
