And it has always surprised me how they are able to not post the rates before you enter the turnpike. There used to be signs on either end of the Turner Turnpike that listed the rates ...but those disappeared years ago

How long have the tolls been going on and how long was it supposed to last?
Seems like forever. Each toll road was to be made free for use as soon as ota made a profit on that particular one. That is one reason why there is always a construction project going on. Job security. Should be a time limit on each one with a requirement that before it is turned over ota must make, and warranty for ten years all needed repairs.

Here is a brief history, I'll save you the time to read for the specific answer to the above question... the first turnpike was Turner Turnpike, authorized to be built as of April 30, 1947. The article verifies what I have always heard, that it was supposed to become a free road once it was paid for, but somehow once they started collecting money like a tax it never went away. SHAW-KER!!!!

The Jenks exit has the upgraded exits where it mails you a bill. I cant recall the price but its insane. Multiple times what pikepass is. They want it all electronic so they get their money.
I wonder who they mail the bill to if you are in a rental car.I used to use this exit a lot and it was 35 cents and very convenient when going from south Tulsa to bass pro.

I think rental cars have license plates and any good rental company should know who had the car on x date.

Yup when you use Rentals in Chicago. You can get a car with a pass or they will just bill the tag and about 2 week later you will get a bill on CC for charges you had while driving there.

What I want to know is who the heck paid for the bridges on the creek extension headed East from 169. That is like riding whoops on a motocross track. Up down UP down UP down UP down at 65-70mph is nuts.

I wonder how long it will be until they add more infrastructure and use that pike pass to send you a ticket for speeding? I also wondered why my old one beeped on the highway by Bass Pro in OKC every time I went by. The new ones don't beep of course.
