I wonder how long it will be until they add more infrastructure and use that pike pass to send you a ticket for speeding? I also wondered why my old one beeped on the highway by Bass Pro in OKC every time I went by. The new ones don't beep of course.

The Kansas Turnpike on I-35 used to issue speeding tickets back in the day because they had the time you entered a gate and when you drove through another one so it was easy to calculate your speed by using your time.
I don't think they do that anymore but they could easily.
BTW your Okla pikepass is good on Kansas and all Tx toll roads now.

California has that--the tolls are posted on electronic signs. I know Texas has some tolled express lanes, but I don't know if they do variable pricing on them.
I didn't see any variable pricing on the express lanes when we went through the Dallas/Ft Worth metroplex in January and then again in March. Our bill was the same both ways. I need to filter my google maps navigation to avoid the toll roads down there. They build the express lanes right next to the interstates and you go about 10 miles right next to the semi in the free lanes while your paying if you follow the speed limit. They charge by exit. If you pass 5 exits on the express, you get 5 charges.

Here, but occasionally There.
Is that the one by Yukon?

No, but they are very much the same. The OTA has done a terrible job with building the elevated turnpike areas. Both the Creek and the Kilpatrick in those places are "bouncy." We had gone across the Creek several years back to go to Grove to an RV rally. Driving across the Creek turnpike had the truck and RV jumping really bad. We had to slow down to about 45 mph to even get comfortable.

We may not like them, but toll roads are probably the best way to finance highway maintenance.

I'm not so sure. Like I posted before, in Ft worth the express lane that charges per exit runs right alongside I-35. If you follow the speed limit, your traveling right along side traffic from the entrance to the exit. The only difference is that you just paid Ft Worth $5 or so.
I could see during rush hours that one might want to take it or if there was an accident blocking traffic, but we were the only people on it for the most part. All traffic stayed on the free lanes. Tough to pay for it with low usage. I remember when the Kilpatrick first opened. I was usually the only vehicle on it, but traffic has picked up with the pike pass. Still I think a majority of drivers use Memorial that is free. Stand to be corrected on that statement though. Don't live there, just observations from visits.

I was in Ontario, Canada last October. Their toll roads only have a camera that bills the license plate with no toll booths anywhere. Still haven't received a bill...…. Hopefully, next time I'm up there, the RCMP won't have a roadblock searching for me!!
