This black and white, if you touch a cop you get what you get is stupid. If the frail elderly Asian had been a 30 year old 6' dude, then yeah, higher force would be justified imo.
But to just set aside common sense and say you get what you get is non sensical.
What about if this was a 10 year old 85# 4' 8" blonde girl? She's old enough to know you don't touch a cop right? Cop would be justified in slamming her to ground too I guess? You know, for his safety?
I said earlier in this thread that I’ve worked with asians, and the ones I know are great people but don’t have the same mindset as americans. The cop obviously can’t read a situation and let his temper control him, and in my opinion, a guy that overreacts like that is 100% in the wrong line of work being a cop. Now the wannabe governor has green lighted cops behaving badly, and I don’t think this isn’t going to end well for the cop or governor wannabe.
If the old man had legitimately laid hands on the cop, I’d agree that force was warranted, but the “touch” (and that’s all it was) absolutely didn’t warrant throwing the guy to the ground. There was nothing about that situation that couldn’t wait for back up or a translator, and THAT is why I say the guy royally F’ed up and should go to the pen.
He’s not going to the pen for a civil lawsuit. The city’s insurance will pay damages. Don’t expect the feds to act with a criminal charge, as Garland (left wing loser) is gone in a few weeks, & does anyone think Trumps pick Bondi will act on this case against a cop with all the big political fish they will be going after in Washington? Maybe, but I wouldn’t bet on it.

An Asian man touch AND give Blue Prince an order? That would be suggesting Prince doesn't know best and has missed something. I can't imagine such a thing being tolerated in a civilized society.
Like the scene in Shawshank where Andy has to tell the officer on the roof that he knows he's already done the research but just wants to help with the paperwork.
City is self-insured. They can pay out up to $100k without council approval. Beyond that, it goes to a vote. They may have a catastrophic policy that kicks in at a certain amount, but I have seen incidents totaling close to a million dollars and it still would have come out of that departments budget, so it would have to be a pretty large amount if so.
That $100k is not enough to cover the cost of the medical bills incurred.
