Congress passed a bill indicating that the 18 year olds were adults but as far as I know it’s illegal for them to purchase alcohol, cigarettes and other things but they can vote.
Something here wasn’t well thought out.

I think people should have to wait until they turn 65. By then they’ll be mature enough to make good decisions.

That has always been my argument, if their old enough to vote at 18 all should be legal. If not change the voting age to 21 also.
And a second thought if not old enough to buy handgun, alcohol or tobacco then all loans or contracts are nonbinding till the age of 21. I do agree alot of 18yr olds are not mature enough but legal age should be set for all things not just what suits bureaucracy.

Dick Stack,owner of Dicks Sporting Goods changed his store’s age policies for Ammo and rifles also shotguns so 18 year olds could not buy them, soon I was no longer needed in firearm department that was the end of my part time job at Dicks.
