Oklahoma Rumors??

Hey All,

I was watching RFD TV and I happen to catch Hee Haw. Roy Clark was singin' a song and it got me thinking about some thing I heard several times as a kid.

Before I start .....or have folks throw in the Oklahoma rumors toward this thread...remember...NOTHING MEAN SPIRITED!!!

Back to Roy Clark, the rumor(maybe it happened?) I heard as a kid; Roy Clark and Willie Nelson were going to invest in buying a golf course or building one around the Tulsa area. Any truth to this?

Second rumor,Shawnee, Oklahoma; Way before the Shawnee Mall was built, either where it is now or just to the West of it, an investor was going to build a Six-Flags type amusement park there.
I heard this one for quite a few years...never happened. Anyone else hear this late '70's early '80's??

Throw in what you heard growing up in your area of Oklahoma, and what it was, that never came to being.

I heard that Disney was going to build a park around Eufala back in the 80's.

Roy Clark did invest and start on a golf course in Bixby, the project went bankrupt before completion. Somebody picked up where he left off and it's now Whitehawk Golf course.

That the Indian Tribes in Oklahoma would one day own all the water in the ground in the State and that everyone would pay them for it..

The Tribes will declare their independence and ask all residents to become "blood" brothers and tell the yankee gubermint to take a leap, and we'll be recognized by the U. N. and become one giant casino and take all the yankees money and spend it on cars and firearms.
Or Elk City is going to get a Sam's, I forget which.

And they did have Spaceport Oklahoma roads signs (state) on I40. But then us alien zombies took over and we don't want to advertise it. I went out to watch them launch the "balloon vehicle", they waited until the sun and the wind came up. But they did release the balloons and little paper planes eventually.

There are still nukes at Clinton - Sherman AFB.
