What online file backup service do ya'll recommend? I have been using Norton backup and am tired of issues with it the worst being of which is deleting and restoring files ( the whole point right? ).

Anyone use Carbonite and like it?

Kind of depends on the type of data you need to back up and its relative importance.
For business...I would always go with a pay service. Carbonite is solid.
For my own personal home use, I use a redundant series of 2 external hard drives, a large flash drive, and the cloud.
All data is backed up to each drive regularly and I take the flash drive with me whenever I leave town just in case something happen at the house while I'm gone.

Crashplan for my family. I got a family plan for unlimited backup of 5 devices for $50.

I've been using crashplan as well. I've had to make a few restores, and I've been happy.

For the other computers at home other than my desktop, I pull from them with BackupPC. Then that pool gets backed up in Crashplan.

It is for a business and I'm expecting to pay. I have two locations and on both of them the information is on two mirrored drives that "sync" ever so often with another mirror set. I need an offsite backup only in the event that my rack gets stolen or burns to the ground. The data is worthless to anyone else but me. Still there is a lot of time invested in it.

Guess I'll do a trial on the services suggested and see who's I like the best

Thanks

We've used Carbonite at the office for the last four years and love it. At times I've wanted to search for a particular file that was backed up 6 months ago but had since been changed. I can find, open and amend the file without any issues. The cost of Carbonite is a hell of a deal.
