The endless equipment search. Been there and done that. Buy a Glock 34 or any of the other well known brands. Shoot it until you "might" feel like the gun is holding you back and you convince yourself you "need" a more expensive pistol. Personally, I got tired of cleaning $100 mags every time I dropped them during USPSA matches. Single Stack 1911's are also available for reasonable prices in 9mm. One of my favorites that I shot the best was an STI Trojan. Some of us, me included, like to buy nice pistols we hardly ever shoot. Save the money for ammo and don't worry so much about the equipment. You can always sell it later here and move up to that $3000 pistol you convince yourself you need. As my dad used to say when I got caught up in the golf equipment race, Jack Nicklaus can still beat you with a $99 set of kmart clubs.
Good analogy. I'm kinda leaning to a Canik TTI Combat. It fits my hand good. Gun has pretty good reviews and it comes with alot of stuff like holster, mags, cleaning kit, etc for under $1k. At my age, my skills levels are good, but a $3k gun won't shoot any better for me than that Canik.

Just about exactly what I was thinking. Money should be spent on training and ammo. Is not the arrow it’s the Indian.

My everyday carry and my competition gun is a CZ P10C. Bought it used for $350 about 5 years ago and the only failure has been a recoil spring that broke after about 10,000 rounds. I have more money in the red dot than in the gun. It fits my hand well and I can usually shoot in the top three of the dozen or so guys we train with.

EAA WITNESS SIGNATURE STOCK. HAS A-two lb trigger . 7 magazines Midway bag. WONDERFUL shooting package.
Also have another set of aftermarket grips for it too
Although light triggers might seem advantageous, I believe that trigger sensitivity should remain within service pistol specifications. Trying and practice with lead to acclimation. In my opinion, the lighter the trigger, the more inherently dangerous with relation to accidental discharges the pistol becomes. I will say, “That is one beautiful weapon!”……

Glock 17 or 34 with MOS plates --- new model coming out that is ACRO specific i think also

-- nothing exotic or fancy -- but with an ACRO or Trijicon RMR, might be all you ever need .

Upgrade the pistol later on if you feel its holding you back - but chances are a basic full size Glock would serve you well for a long time

Thanks to all of you for the good responses. Valuable knowledge with this group. Alot of great suggestions from this group, and I have owned some of those guns but had to sell them.

I have decided to get either a Canik TTI Combat or the Canik Rival S.

Many reasons to purchase the Canik: good reviews on-line, fits my hands pretty good, good price point$, longer sight radius, 5" barrel, & fiber optic sights for my older eyes.

Now I have to sell some stuff to get there. Regards.
