Rain in Montana tonight. Much appreciated as the forest fires have visibility down to a few miles. Hopefully these firefighters up here get some relief.

My sister is in Big Sky this week. I've been all over Montana, but don't recall ever being there....

Big sky is absolutely beautiful. You’d love it.
Toured the Berkeley strip mine pit today in Butte Montana.

You can’t believe how massive this pit is until seeing it in person. Over a mile in diameter and 1500’ deep.
The mine shafts, both vertical and horizontal are nearly 10,000 miles in length.
Hundreds of men died in those mines.
Wife and I had a personal interest in it as the company we both worked for made millions off that pit and the mines around it selling drilling bits to them that were manufactured in Ponca City.

Good morning to all. Sitting in the “breakfast area” of La Quinta in Muskogee. Coffee is good, but that is the only good part of this establishment. I cannot recommend this one. We are here for a funeral yesterday, one this afternoon, and another tomorrow. I may be a jinx, or maybe select sickly friends…

So, back to the coffee drinking and people watching.
