We made the trip yesterday to LEGOLAND in our sons BMW on the autobahn. I M stayed in the middle lane most of the time doing 170km (105 mph) and was getting passed like I was sitting still. If I didn’t have my grandson and wife in the car, I would of tried to keep up with them. Lol! It was fun

Today our kids are taking us on a 5 day trip around the country and to Austria and Switzerland.
Our first stop today wil be a little town that I lived in back in the late 70’s called Oberkirchin. My dad was in the Air Force and was stationed over here for 4 years. There was such a long wait to get base housing so we live in this little town about 40 miles or so from Baumholder Army post. I know weird right. He was stationed at Ramstein AF base, worked at Baumholder Army base and we live in Oberkirchion.
Anyway, going to revisit our house and neighbors.

Good evening all,
Well we made to Oberkirchin, the town I lived in back in the 70‘s. It was great. We found the house that we lived in, the bridge we played on and even found the fort that we use to play in as kids. Not of the people were home, must have been working so didn’t get to talk to anyone while we were there. Except to the pub we stopped in for lunch.

The first pics are of the house we lived in. We lived on the top floor and our landlord and family lived on the ground floor. The bridge was built by Hitler during the war for transportation of troops and supplies.
And then the little building is up on top of the bridge. It was our fort 40 some years ago. It looks like it has been added on to and kind of made into a storage shed. But it was really cool to see where I spent some of my childhood.

The kids surprised us afterwards by driving us to Strausbiurg, France. We checked into the hotel and had dinner on the canal. Going exploring tomorrow and tomorrow night. So far, it’s been an amazing trip.

Love your pics, Dancer!! Sounds like you are having an amazing time!!

The kittens (I need some help with names ...srsly, I have a dog named Dawg, forchrissakes ... 🙀🙀) have found my potted plants. 😩 Yikes!! So ... I'm looking for some simple shelving to get everyone up higher and out of reach of the little stinkers.

Guess I've caught some kind of bug so my "weekend" has been pretty quiet. Have any of your seen Industry?? It's a series on HBO ... I'm wondering if it is really as weird as I think it is or if it's just me. Lol

Hope everyone is good! @Oklahomabassin hey, buddy!! Haven't seen ya around in a hot second -- everything okay??

Afternoon gang.
Just got in from a full morning and afternoon of sight seeing here in Strausbourg, France. Visited the most amazing Cathedral, Cathedral Notre Dame Strausbourg, It was breath taking. Something right out of the Game of Thrones. Stopped and had coffee and pastries at a couple of corner French cafes.
We are now in for a couple of hour to rest up before dinner and the night sightseeing.
Hope everyone is having a great day.
