Why are people here happy the repubs won the trifecta, if both parties are the same anyway?

You literally said "what difference does it make". We're not replacing RINOS with more RINOS. We're replacing them with firebrands who actually have a somewhat stiff spine. The RINO wing of the GOP IS the uniparty. We're chipping away at them so that change can be had. It won't happen overnight, so we have to keep digging the RINO's out of power, one by one. That's nice...but that's not what I said.
Yes. Our current government (is/has been) engaged in wrongdoing. I don't dispute that. But the argument is the democrat and republican parties are the same. If that's the case, why vote to replace the current democrats in charge with republicans who are the same? It doesn't make sense.
And it doesn't make sense because the parties are NOT the same. I'd be willing to bet that most here are welcoming the change newly elected republicans will bring with them. People didn't vote for Trump/Vance because they're the same as what we have now. They voted because they want change. I've also argued against an actual revolt time and again right in this forum. And obviously giving up isn't an option.
So that's your answer. I voted for change because I know a government ran by the republican party will be better than one ran by democrats. Not perfect, not always doing what I want, but better. Improved to one degree or another. You're not going to get perfection regardless of how badly you want it.
The other thing I'd like to point out is nearly all of Trump's picks are current republican politicians (Musk is an exception and Gabbard is a fairly recent convert) who were part of the "uniparty" everyone's b***hing about. But suddenly many of you guys are excited and enthusiastic about that they might be able to accomplish.
It's easy to say the parties are the same, and it sounds cool and it sounds like you're really in tune with the world when you say it. But it just isn't true.
Again, we're replacing RINOs who control the party now, with conservatives who will carry out the change we need. Given no challenge, the current GOP "leaders" would continue snatching defeat from the jaws of victory forever.Don’t let the perfect become the enemy of the good.

There is something to "the uniparty." When was the last time you saw the republicans stick together as much as the democrats? They should be on the same team. They act though as "oops, we didn't have enough support and failed, or when they lose (repubs) they always say, "we'll get them next time." Look at lankford, his border bill still would have let in well over a million illegals.
However you really have to look at the fact we have 428 agencies now. We will only see elimination and eliminating them if the republicans band together and work as a team. Trumps appointments need to be supported if we are to get meaningful change, otherwise it will be division and arguing, as congress always does.

This is where we disagree. It can't be a "small" majority and still run the show. The RINOs run the show. They're the majority, which is the reason everyone talks about the uniparty. Don't worry, we'll let you know when it's no longer the uniparty. Thanks for making my point...even if you missed it with the "what difference does it make" comment.
You're acknowledging here that we're attempting to replace the weak in the party with the strong in the party. Same party. Same people, for the most part. Your argument is against the weak links...a small majority within the party...not the party as a whole. That's what I've been saying.
The over-broad generalization of "uniparty" just doesn't work at all.
We can agree to disagree.Unfortunately, the democrats have been running the show in the senate. That pretty much ties the hands of republicans. And it's sort of made the slim R majority in the house irrelevant over the past few years.
I'm just trying to see some of the hyperbole toned down a bit and replace it with some objective thought. There's so much nonsense and disinformation out there any more it's hard to tell what's true and what's not. Conservatives don't need to be contributing to that.
