Well, more issues today with the replacement work van. It has problems as well with all the computerized equipment and lasers. We are really getting frustrated, so we are going to take tomorrow off (tech guys are off on weekends anyway) and then call on Monday to see what can be worked out.

A good part of the data we collected today wasn't good at all. One laser wanted to keep shutting down, one server can't seem to save data right to an internal hard drive, and a few other things were issues.

I think we are going to Braum's for supper and "comfort food" (meaning ice cream.)

So y’all live in an RV?
A couple I went to high school with sold their house a few years ago and started living in an RV. They both have full time jobs so aren’t really “mobile”, but they live in a local RV park and travel on weekends. That life style is intriguing to me, but I’m too attached to all my “stuff” that I would have to get rid of to downsize.
We live in our RV about 6-7 months a year. I would go full time, but wife can't give up the home.
It's an incredible lifestyle. We have accumulated so many new friends that we are really close to on the road.
Currently 9 other couple from across the country that we meet up with in different locations. We all network together and plan next year's travels so the ones that can be there can meet up.
Sometimes it's only one other couple and sometimes it's all of us.
When we are home, it's gotta mow, gotta blade the road to the house, gotta fix this or that, and so on. It's a work fest.
On the road, every day you wake up, it's what are we going to do that is fun today. Zero pressure to do anything if you don't want to. Some days you sit under the awning and read a book, other days you rent a UTV and hit the trails in the mountains or in the desert depending on the location.
With camping friends, you increase the fun level and learn from others what they do for fun.
The girls are always playing games which my wife never did, but now does.
If not out on the trails or fishing, or hiking, or visiting interesting sites, museums or restaurants and bars. your sitting around the firepit in the evening trading stories and having a great time.
I can't think of any negatives about the RV life.
One can go inexpensive and camp in National parks pretty much for free called boondocking or stay in RV parks that have little to offer but a spot or RV resorts that have activities and facilities like pickle ball, tennis, softball, lapidary shops, wood shops, and the list goes on.

More follow-up:

It looks like the wife and I will be driving back to the office tomorrow to see what can be done with either this van or perhaps the one we had prior to this one, or perhaps some other option. Our "drive team" manager called us this morning to visit about our situation.

He surprised us by stating that by their estimates, the wife and I are about 2 weeks AHEAD of schedule, in spite of being out for about 8 or 9 days due to the COVID. We continue to be surprised at the respect the people at the company for us and what we are doing.

So, we will head out once again in the morning and be back in the Tulsa area around 11:00 am or so, and the plan is to let the tech people deal with things with the hope of us coming back to Texas on Wednesday. There are roughly three options: Fix the first van we had, fix or replace the laser on the van we currently have, or get another van altogether. I guess we'll see tomorrow what the tech guys can pull off.

All I can say is that it is a good thing that I like driving.

RV life is great.....I just returned from the ranch after inspecting a new porch that I had added to my covered Mobile Suite setup.....I can now walk out with out steps and enjoy the view. There is a hinged section from the door to the porch that can be lifted when removing the RV for a road trip. Check out the pic's

If you’re coming down Indian Nation on Wednesday, we’ll probably pass somewhere along the way, because I’m planning to head up to my place to finish getting ready for archery season. I’ll be the guy in the dirty white Ford F-250 with three dogs and a bed full of feed.

Wow! That's an amazing setup! Ours is mobile so much that we want to build a shade cover to protect from sun damage while parked but don't need a setup like that which is impressive for a ranch place.
I'm jealous.

Dang I'm so jealous of that view! Nice job on the porch -- it's easy to see you are a talented fella.

I guess I'm up for a while. Nero isn't feeling good and he wakes me up to come in the living room with him when he feels bad. I have no idea why we have to be in the living room but ... Here we are. Poor fella. It's been coming for a while, but I kinda think it's time now. 😢

That is awesome!!! However, I now have a question....

....when you are parked at the site, how do you get to the basement on the door-side? Or is that structure out in line with the living room slide, giving you just a wee bit of space to get to the storage?

At any rate, I'm kind of jealous. When we get our RV back from getting a new roof and a few other repairs, we hope to build some kind of deck for ours. Although, we aren't likely to be moving our much any more. Ours is also a Mobile Suites. We bought it back in 2010 and thoroughly love living in it.
