It's so hot, I seen 2 ducks fighting over a lawn sprinkler
I forgot to take out ground meat for hamburgers this afternoon, so I put a 1.5# package on the tool box of my truck at 4:30 and made patties at 5:30. That’s no joke.
Half of our chickens died yesterday, which means 2 out of 4. I opened the door to their kennel/coop about noon and the two geiariatc birds we inherited from the neighbors ran out seemingly without a care in the world. But, the two the kids hatched in school about 18 months ago were laying side-by-side dead. If we ever get any more, I'm go to research heat-tolerant hens. Meanwhile, there will be half as much poop on the patio to wash off.
Take some poster cardboard and blank out that window completely. Problem solved.I have a shade up already. It helps but there is still that pesky glow around it that wakes me up at 2 in the morning.I have NO idea how Grumpy sleeps thru it.

Oh yeah ... It's up. But the double-sided tape is getting old enough that it doesn't want to always stay put. I do think I will replace it with fresh tape and foil this weekend, though. Just for good measure. I mean I want to have an out-of-body experience when I open my eyes and it looks JUST like it does when my eyes are shut.
Dropped the Mrs off at the airport this morning at 0430, returning next week. Kid is at his moms until next week as well. Just me and the dogs.
