I have been using this 'driveway alarm' for many years. It depends on the distances you are dealing with. My gate/entry is about 400' from the house. You can have multiple sensors if you want that produce different tones. The sensors run off of AA batteries that will easily last over a year. The receiver is in the house plugged in. Very reliable.

A question or semi rant.

I recently posted a firearm for sale with 'Firm' on the very reasonable price. Lined up a buyer and its now sold. In the interim, someone contacted me with:

" I know your price is firm, but would want it for just a bit less that the "

I left out any info that could link the actual person involved, but the rest of the message almost implied that I really needed to sell it at his offering.

I messaged back and said that the price had been firm and it's sold.

I kind of wish I'd said the price is firm and added the price firm at $100 more than my original offering, just to be a bit snotty. To me, 'Firm means firm' and while its a free world, to offer less is a bit insulting.

Not a big deal, the gun is sold, but.....

Thoughts?

It’s the world we live in now. I used to buy and sell a lot online, but over the last few years, it’s gotten more and more frustrating. It seems like everyone I’ve tried to deal with is a lowballing tire kicking a-hole.

You got your gun sold, so the only advice I can offer is to shake it off and move on. :anyone:

@wolfman1 I think it’s rude and disrespectful but I believe it happens because you have two camps. Camp one are the folks like you and me that don’t want to screw around negotiating and put down what we actually want for the item. Camp two can’t begin to understand that concept and think everything is negotiable and in fact they treat it like it’s an Olympic event. It’s as if they get more enjoyment out of haggling then the actual item purchased. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Good evening all,
We have had a full day with our group. Spent all morning at Warner Brother’s Studios. The tour was really good. Marcy and I have been here before but most of the group hadn’t and really enjoyed it. From there we took everyone (40 people) to Hollywood Walk of Fame and the Chinese Theatre for a while then on to the open air Farmers Market for lunch. After lunch we took everyone to the Santa Monica pier for a couple of hours. And on the way back to the hotel our bus driver took us around to some of the touristy things to see.
Got back to the hotel and met with the whole group (123 people) that is going on the cruise with us tomorrow. Then a separate meeting for our staff and now finally in the room.
The buses will pick us up around 11am tomorrow morning to take us to the port. Then it’s cruise time. Looking forward to the week.
Hope everyone had a great Saturday.

Here in charming Lawton we've got about 1/2 inch, just enough to make it pretty. Temps are up so it wont last.

I’m at Lake Lawtonka and so far we have at least 3”-4” sitting in a patio table and it’s still coming down good. Should still snow like this for another 4-5 hours.
