Taken in the area near Kenton, OK in the Oklahoma Panhandle. If one is in Kenton, he is nearly into New Mexico. The rock formation seen here is referred to as "The Wedding Party," with the minister to the right, then the bride and groom, and then the large formation to the left is the "audience."
This is one image of the Oregon Dunes north of Coos Bay and North Bend. The beach erosion there and further north is astounding. In one place, although I don't seem to have a picture of it, the dune is encroaching right to the edge of Highway 101. According to what we were told when we lived and worked up there in 2016-17, the "building" of the dunes began when well meaning souls decided to plant grasses along the beaches to control the erosion. Another example of unintended consequences.
Zoomed in image of some trees in the above photo. The dunes are covering trees.
My wife likes plants and buys a mum every year to support her school ag program, and the last few years she convinced herself she’s got duds because they haven’t bloomed. This year’s has done great, and she’s been trying to attribute it to getting a better quality mum. I normally let her do her deal and don’t get involved in her “projects”, but I’ve secretly been watering her mum. Should I tell her or just let her think she’s got a green thumb all of a sudden?!?
