Had to play catch up again on this thread. Our mini Aussie has had diarrhea for a couple days, but has seemed fine otherwise. Wake up this morning to the terrier acting way lethargic instead of his usual bouncy self. So I call the boss and take them both to the vet this morning right after the vet opened at 0830. Just stomach issues he says, gives them some meds and get back home to go into work by 0930.

4 of our 7 mechanics plus the boss are working in Snyder, TX all week, so we're short handed. Got one engine serviced today after my late start, hoping we keep up good enough the rest of the week. Quite the day to turn 46...
Happy Birthday!

I'm on Day 4 of some upper respiratory crud. Finally got an appetite for a snack tonight. Nothing but liquids, since Friday. The light at the end of the tunnel is much brighter!

During our trip to Virginia beginning a couple of weeks ago, we drove into Washington, D.C. to see the Smithsonian Air and Space museum and some of the memorials on the Mall. Real cool weather and a really long walk kept us from seeing all that I (kind of) wanted to see, but we did get by and see the National Native American Veteran's Memorial that was designed by a co-worker of ours at the OSBI. His name is Harvey Pratt, and his design was chosen from roughly 102 different designs from designers world wide. While we didn't get to the other memorials, this one was the main one that the wife and I wanted to see.

The design incorporates sacred things to the Native Americans such as the circle, water, and supposedly fire, although we didn't see the fire element. It was supposed to be at the bottom of the big vertical circle. There are areas to sit and four "lances" on which can be hung prayer clothes. Three of the lances can easily be seen in this picture, with the fourth directly behind the one on the left.

It was as cold as it looks in Portland, Maine this morning! Lots of snow and a little freezing rain on this trip. Wind gusts to 60mph in Boston tomorrow….
