Amazing how many of the same places the wife and I have visited that you and your wife have.

Well, saddle up, Dennis. We are planning a Thanksgiving Day trip to King George, VA this year. The wife's middle sister and her youngest son moved to Virginia because of his job, and he takes good care of his mother. We hope to see some of nature's wonders (caverns perhaps) and I want to take in two or three monuments in D.C. and the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum.

Who knows what else, because we could be there for roughly 10 days.

EBR-1 generator and turbine in their museum near Arco, ID. EBR stands for Experimental Breeder Reactor and was the first ever to generate electricity by way of nuclear power. I'm glad the person was standing there to give some perspective of how big that equipment is. I've been there twice and wouldn't mind going another time if at ever possible.

Well, I couldn’t sleep this morning and was on the computer about 3 when I got an email from Capital One asking me to confirm a purchase….nope, not mine, so I have to jump through the hoops to report the fraud and now have a dead credit card. I’ve never been on Etsy and for sure never bought anything off there, but the actual “tell” that it was a fraud was the 10 cent test purchase before the actual purchase. There’s not much that chaps my ass worse than a damn thief. :censored:

I'll be there for 2 months, just South of your planned location next year.

We've had our CC compromised three times. Fortunately, the CC company got us new cards within 24 hours, but it's a huge PITA because all of the auto-pays, etc have to be redone with the new card numbers.

When one heads out of Canon City, CO to see the Royal Gorge, one passes a place that looks kind of like an old fort. That place used to be a regular little western town called Buckskin Joe, and in fact, was used in quite a few movies as the town in those. If anyone has watched the western entitled "The Sacketts," they have seen something of that town. Sadly, the town is now gone, and the last time we were there there was only the tourist store and the train that ran out to where one could see the Royal Gorge an the bridge across it. Now, the store is closed and the train was purchased by someone else in Colorado and moved to their private land.

The Royal Gorge and bridge as seen from the overlook that the train took one to for viewing. This view is pretty much what one would see with the naked eye.

Oh yippee for me!! I get the honor of replacing an 8 year old hot water tank! I remember changing it last time ---pretty sure it's gonna be 'tougher' on me this time. Thank goodness I thought of using a floor jack to lift it onto the stand the last time....
