Did today suck? Also yes
But its (mostly) done now, and the folks have water back on. We ended up digging up all the way to meter, and also into cellar on the other end, around 30-35' total. Still have to install new faucet, but we tee'd off for it and installed a block valve so we can do it later this week.
Also, in the course of our excavating, we found the gas line, that we think goes to the shop, is PVC! Nothing like digging under a plastic gas line to remove a steel water line

So we headed to town tonight to see friends from our very rural location.
About 200' from the intersection another vehicle turned with their lights toward us with brights on.
In the corner of my eye, saw some motion and locked up the brakes.
10' in front of us, someone was sprinting across the front of the vehicle. If the brakes had not been applied, we would have hit the person.
I was on the horn, and the wife rolled the window down as the person (young lady) got into an SUV with some very salty words about how she just about died.
I have the entire event on our new dash cam that I tried to download. I can get the audio, but not the video.
More work needed to find the format to get the video available to be shared.

Bruneau Dunes State Park near Mountain Home, ID has the distinction of having the tallest "single" structure of dunes at 470 feet and also having an observatory. While the Great Sand Dunes National Park has higher dunes, it also has a much wider area of dunes.
