Back in October of 2020 while heading home from a vacation in South Dakota and NE Wyoming, we stopped at the Smith Falls State Park near Valentine, Nebraska. There were even some people camping there in October, one of which was in a tent and the other in this camper. Hardy folks up there in Northern Nebraska.
I'm a proud dad tonight. My eldest son started a new job as a cashier at Scheels in Chandler, AZ today. At the employee orientation, the 18 new hires learned that they represented 2% of the applicants. The hiring team put my son through three interviews for the job. He can talk to anyone and could likely sell snow to Eskimos so I think he'll do great.
There isn't much that I've ever photographed in Nevada, but the Nevada Treasure RV park was a pretty nice facility. Fortunately, we didn't stay there with our RV, so I have no idea what their rates are. We were just there to meet another RV'ing couple that we knew from an RV forum and website.
Rain showers in the area of Capulin Volcano in Northeastern New Mexico. Next time I get out that way, I think I need to drive up to the crater and get pictures from up there.
Good morning gang,
I went over to Blue Bluff here on Grand Lake yesterday and did a little Crappie fishing in there heated dock. I thought maybe they would be biting before this article blast came through. I was wrong. There were a couple other guys in there as well but nobody had any luck. Oh well. It was a nice get a way.
Have a great Saturday!
A critter sharing one of the trails in the Martin Nature Park in north Oklahoma City. They see enough humans that they aren't very spooked at the sight of them.
We spent a few hours in Weatherford yesterday helping our daughter move from the 6th floor to 3rd floor of her dorm. I think for as much as these kids spend on those rooms each, the college could at least keep an elevator running for more than a few days at a time! Her elevator has been out of order far more days than it has worked since August!
After that, they had some phone business to deal with at the Verizon store, so I hit up Tin Star and Ace Hardware. Found out the surprising news that Tin Star is up for sale. Then on to Elk City for my a dinner to celebrate my daughter's birthday, which included her, her BF, BF's parents, a couple of her friends and my wife and I. Good time and good eats.
Finally got home around 830-9 last night, and found our 6yo mini Aussie was sick. My wife and her aunt (more like sister due to close age gap) ended up taking her to emergency vet visit, still not sure whats going on quite yet...
