I'm going to be in the market for a backyard building that I want to use for a small woodworking shop and lawn equipment storage shed. Everywhere you go you see the nice looking wood ones set up on the side of the road and that's the type that I'm looking at. I'll be looking for something in the 10' x 16' size or similar with double doors (don't need an overhead) and would have to be built on site. Anyone have any experience with these types? Recommendations or things to look out for?

Build one yourself. Can be done for just as cheap but, if you have even minor skills, you can build it with better quality / workmanship. Especially if you are already a wood worker, which it sounds like you are. The ones on the side of the road are pretty cool and all until you walk inside and look at the craftsmanship. Things like brads and staples instead of nails and screws. 2x3 lumber instead of 2x4 or 2x6. Bare minimum on the waterproofing, etc. If you build it you can maximize space and build it to you needs and wants.

+1... cheaper, and better. Spend money on good sheetmetal/paint

Look arround the internet for plans. I found some for a 8x16 for $20 and built it myself. If you want to do woodworking in it a 12x20 would be better than a 10x16. Build as big as you can afford you will not regret it.

We had a 12'X16' barn built for us this year. Almost all of the shed builders we reviewed just tacked 2X4's together using plates. We found a shed builder in Guthrie who frames sheds like houses and framed with 2X6 rafters. We were very pleased and fortunate to find these guys. (And, they were less expensive than the "wobbly shed" guys.) The moral is, look at how any potential builder puts the bones together.

Get one of those 18x20 all steel carports, there are a couple of different companies that sell them, get it with the gable ends as those are a stronger constructed shed. Buy some posts, 2x4s, and tin to enclose the ends and sides. Frame your doors on one end, and you can even put a window or two in it, and you won't have much more than $1000 to $1100 in it. I've done a couple of them that way, but of course mine are 20x21 sheds, enough to get two cars parked in it.

I took some measurements of a Shed for sale at lowes, made a supply list with little waste and saved a ton.

Man that looks awesome pullup. How long did that take you once you got all the materials? You guys have me convinced I should do my own; and per my HOA it has to be shingled, so this is going to be the style I'll do most likely.
