Thanks everyone for your speedy replies!

After looking through everyone's comments, I went back and looked through Missouri Bullet's 38 special offering. For the 125 grain bullet it has a bullet OAL of .527; however with the same bullet shape RNFP in 158 grain, the OAL is .643. For the 125 grain cowboy #17 bullet, loading to point A crimp line yields a cartridge OAL of 1.39. I'm guessing that with the 158 grain bullet I would see at least half of the .12" difference between the 125 gr and 158gr at the tip which would bring my average OAL to 1.45". The factory round in my original post was also a 130 grain bullet.

I also looked at Missouri Bullet's FAQ and they talk about how every bullet is different which would seem to support what many of you are saying...seat to point A the crimp line, so that's what i'm doing.

From MBC's FAQ:

Thanks guys!
