Place bags of wood mulch on windshield to protect from hail

For my Triumph Bonneville I use an old pillow in a couple trash bags bungee corded to my gas tank as a protector. I don't want to deal with any insurance claims, any way a new tank will cost about 1500 that is money I don't want to spend, even if I just have to pay the deductible.

I just park in my garage. Am i doing it wrong?

I have not parked in my garage since I let Grumpy move in. I am hoping I can fix that during this remodel we have going on. And if not, well, at least I'll have a carport.

Wife and I park in the garage, however when storms normally fire up Sun thru Thurs Im at work.
