I find that this is not true. When ever I have been in a store there has been at least two maybe three new gun buyers. Usually it has been a man and a woman and they are looking for a gun for her. She is new and some of the men are new gun owners. Look at the amount of CC permits granted lately. A lot of those are new owners. Look at the shooting classes held at your local gun club. Those generaly are new onwers too. And congradulate them on taking a class. IMHO.

So how many n00bs are cool with building up stripped lowers? How many n00bs are so refined in their rifle knowledge they buy PMAGs into backorder oblivion?

I agree with both sides here.. I got lucky. Bought my Sport, that has since been delivered to the bottom of Grand Lake, about a week before the shootings.

I think it's a combination of both. I know a lot of folks who know nothing about guns who have bought AR-15s. I hope I'll be able to buy them cheap in a couple of years.

I agree 150%. Member what it was like with the last ban? Widespread panic, stupid prices, and so on. If it happens, it will suck, and if it doesn't we will all just laugh and laugh and buy $650 AR15s as the market will be even MORE flooded than it was six months ago.

There's a battle raging on and we have to support each other.

We do need to help educate new gun owners. Most of these new gun owners are buying guns to "stash" when the new AWB hits. Unfortunately, these will be the first people to turn them in if the time comes. We need to enlist these new gun owners into the fight. We need to explain the importance of the Second Ammendment. We need to explain that a new AWB is only going to happen if we let it. We need to explain how they should spend a portion of the time and money they are spending stocking up fighting the impending legislation. There are probably a few exsisting gun owners that could use some of this education.

Mr Ed has it absolutely right! And, by the way, it really is a much better way to live, being nice to everyone. You just might meet your new best friend with a few kind words. The opposite will guarantee that your number of new friends will be quite small!

I just don't see there being vast numbers of new owners in this. More like legions of existing that want to be 'haves' in a new 'have not' world.

Agree here too. Most people out buying a gun, are buying another gun. What percentage of homes already have a firearm around here? Most I'd say.

Let's also include NRA membership in the education. The more members and the more money there is for the battle, the louder our voice will be and the better our chances of protecting the 2nd A.
