Yes, you can. Lot of people chop g17's to accept g19 mags. If the grip gets any worse over time I may chop it down some more to g19 size.

This is my first Glock. Which magazine are you refering to?

Glock 19 mags are shorter and hold 15 rounds compared to the Glock 17 mags which hold 17 rounds. The 19 mags will not fit into a standard Glock 17 as they are too short unless you shorten the frame.

I have to admit, when I broke my down, it wasn't too bad.
Certainly shot less that the other Glocks that I own and pump lead through!!!
