We have an 89' and a 91' Dodge Cummins that we still use on the farm. Both have over 600k miles, both have flatbeds with cake boxes, both have had the frames welded back together more than once and are still buckled in the center. Both have had multiple auto transmission and rear axle repairs or replacements, both ride like Fred Flintstone's ride on a road built of boulders. Both have been gutless wonders since new but.........they do start every.single.time. My friend bought their son a completely restored 92' 5sp last year that looks incredible. It's still gutless and rides like Fred Flintstone's ride.

My work truck is one of these. It’s a piece of crap.

New Water pump before 70,000 miles. AC needed repaired before 50,000. Not sure what it needed from 0-30,000 because that’s when I got it. Oh and my Rear speakers quit working at 70,000.

Other guys with same trucks have fuel pumps going out before 30,000 miles.

Wouldn’t recommend.

Wow, the programming on the computer worked perfectly at 30K, 50K ad 70 K, next stop 90K.

I'll take my 2020 F-250 with the 430hp Godzilla gas engine that has pulled over 14,000 pounds 50,000 miles + with zero issues over every mountain pass in the Rockies in cruise control at the speed limit for the win.

Naaaaaa you own a Covid Truck!

And you best keep a Mask on it when those Diesels go passing you!! LOL!

But seriously new trucks and SUVs have basically inaccessible engine bays unless you are willing to stand on a small platform to work on them. I'm not convinced this design choice is necessary for any aero reasons.

The "design" is encourage / require returning to dealership for ANY service / maintenance.

Without a $150k diagnostics machine, you will not know if the problem is mechanical, a sensor or computer caused.

I had a '71 Roadrunner with 440. I could SIT in the engine bay and disassemble that thing with 4 -5 box end wrenches and a Phillips screwdriver.
