put a glock 17 gen 3 on layaway over gen 4....good or bad choice?

I own both gen 3 and gen 4 glocks, honestly its a just personal preferenece thing at this point. I like the slimmer frame and mag release on the 4's but the grip texture doesn't do it for me, and I don't like using any of the backstraps. Gen 3 is what I've shot most and am most used to so they're what I prefer.

I prefer the Gen 3 but don't really see much difference between them other then the guide rod and the stippling on the grip.

I prefer Gen 4, but I won't turn down a Gen 3. Either Gen is G2G.
