In November and December of 2012, Americans bought 4.7 million firearms, according to data from NICS.
There are 2.29 million active members in the Chinese Army.
There are 1.13 million active members in the Indian Army.

In two months, Americans bought enough firearms to give one each to every member of the Armies of both China and India.

The way I look at it that's a good thing! That's what keeps us a strong country!

How many private sales???? Another 5 million?

That's impossible to say. But the private sales would all be used guns. Most of the NICS numbers should be new guns, right? Adding more to our collective arsenals of freedom :-)

Another way to look at it is that that's 4.7 million more guns shooting up ammo that I can't get my hands on!
