I Deer hunt with a Remington 700. However I just picked up an SKS at a recent gun show. My Question is can I loan this rifle to my brother to Deer hunt with if I get the soft point ammo? The regulation that makes me wonder is as follows:
Rifles: Centerfire rifles firing at least a 55-grain weight soft-nosed or hollow-point bullet and having an overall cartridge case length of 1 1/4 inches or longer (9mm rifles are not legal). Clips or magazines of all .22 caliber centerfire firearms may not be capable of holding more than seven (7) rounds of ammunition.
That is from the OK Dept of wildlife website. Does the 10 round magazine of my SKS disqualify it? the ammo is legal as it would be 122 gr soft point ammo. Does the 7 round limit only apply to .22 centerfire and not other calibers?
