I was wondering is it proper procedure for a LE officer to perform a traffic stop in a marked car yet be in plain clothes??? The reason why i ask is because day before yesterday I seen a sheriffs deputy perform a traffic stop on an older mercury MGM. When he got out of his car he was wearing a tshirt, jeans, brown leather jacket and a ballcap. I've never seen this happen before and i was just curious. Unless the driver of the MGM did something really stupid in front of him.

Was it in Rogers County or somewhere more rural? :anyone:

I know where I work/reside in Seminole county and Hughes county, both of the sheriffs and even a few of their deputies and undersheriffs dress in civies every day. Hell, even I just wear blue jeans and a uniform shirt when I do prisoner transports. :ugh2: It's not uncommon to see a deputy sheriff in plain clothes.

It lacks professionalism IMO but yeah...I still wear blue jeans with my uniform shirt. :rolleyes2
