I think the largest problem is the parties, not the vote. A politician can get in power and remain there for decades with party support. I think term limits would be a much better solution rather than messing with the vote itself. A slightly more complex system of voting lends itself to fraud much more easily. Compromise is the way we got to the mess that is gun laws now, and RCV is more of a compromise voting system. This is just another way of obscuring a need for term limits. I can see the appeal, however changing voting is a bandaid for the real issues.
