The reloading bug has hit and I’d like to reload some 38 Special 148gr wad cutters. Dug around and found my Dad’s old set of Pacific dies. There’s only two dies, I assume one is the de-priming/sizing die and the other is a seating/crimp die. Am I missing an expander die or did Pacific make a two die set for 38 Special?

That’s a neat trick to get a bullet started with no bell on the case. I have never seen a 38/357 set without one. If your looking for cheap, you might get away with a 9mm one to bell the case.

I’m thinking the expander is MIA. I found a complete set on EBay that isn’t priced terribly. I may have to bid on it.

What kind of a press do you intend to use? On my Dillon press there is a powder funnel included with the caliber conversion kit that bells the case

Single stage press. I won’t be loading up a ton of this load. I think I only have a few hundred cases to load up. It’s going to be a light practice/match load for a snub revolved.

I grabbed a nice clean set of older RCBS dies off the EBay this afternoon.
