I saw a great double play the other day. I've watched so many games I couldn't tell you which team it was. I saw a second baseman step on the bag on a forced run from first and he missed the tag. Doesn't the step on the bag make it an out just as if it was the first of a double play? They called him safe.

Not if they got the runner going to first, first. That makes first base open and the runner at second can go back.
