My DL is coming up for renewal in a few months. Is the REAL ID a requirement now or can I just renew my regular DL?
If its required, do I just need my birth cert and proof of my residence like a utility bill, or is there more that I need to show?

If you plan on flying anywhere you will for sure need the real ID.

Last renewal, I got the real id. Had to make an appointment at the tag agency. It was free, so I got the 8 year license
