I'm looking for a .22 LR revolver that I can use on the boat or while tube fishing. It'll probably only ever fire shot shells for snakes, so it doesn't need to be fancy. Above all, it needs to be cheap. Used and beat up is alright too.

What should I be looking at?

heritage arms makes a cheap single action pistol that should meet these requirements

you can get them around black friday for around 100-125 bucks brand spanking new

but you might pay that for used this time of year

The Rough Rider is $129 every day at Academy.

Really? What's the tax run? We don't have an Academy here. There are several in OKC area, aren't there? I've been thinking of buying one myself. I've been watching .22 revos on gunbroker but, to get a decent one, you might as well buy new!

I'm guessing the tax is ~8.5%

I was in a pawn shop a couple weeks ago. They had a used Rough rider .22LR. The gun was ok looking. Not beat to hell. Price was $150. I was in Academy (Norman) later that day. Sitting on the bottom shelf was a new one. $129.
