Yes they are.
I've decided to pass on reloading my .41 Long Colt. It's a Colt 1877 (AKA Thunderer). From what I've read from numerous sources, the internal springs are relatively weak, leading to their shortcoming. Since mine is in good working order, and a family heirloom, I don't want to risk damaging it. I wish I had an old revolver like it I could shoot. Maybe I can come across a single action army somewhere?!
