Remington 700 AND Savage 10FP Gurus needed please.

Thanks guys for the info so far. I'm actually working on both of these and some others but these two I just know nothing about.

As far as what I am going to do with them. I'm not much of a hunter out side of rabbits and the occasional mole/groundhog. More of a range whore. Not even sure I would keep either one actually or I would have to upgrade the safe. I'm just trying to get an idea on value of the two and you guys have helped a lot so far and i do appreciate it greatly.

I have a 10FP LE, I like it. I shot both remington 700 SPS and Savage in .308, I like both. Savage is a little cheaper than remington. But this is me, If I buy a remington 700 SPS I don't have to worry about the stock, I like the 700's stock. I bought a 10FP, I had to swap to B&C the stock because the factory stock is kinda crapy but the accu trigger on the savage is heaven.

Oh I fully agree, but I was talking vs. chopping it down to 20" (I likes mine easy to fit in the back of the Jeep going to and from the range ).

For sure, I've been thinking my 26 incher is a bit too long.

A good Remington should look about like this one built by Dan Dowling ( made rifles for Tubbs before he started to build his own. 27" barrels are good for extra Velocity and will keep 308s supersonic past 1000 (this one is in 308) 27" on .223 makes this gun approach 22-250 velocities with light bullets, but I am with the rest....dump the stock!Oh yea and the scope isn't a knock off it is a Mark 4 M3 Leopold, you can read more about this rifle in the want adds.

When figuring the price of the Remington, I would discount it by the cost of putting a new, quality stock on it. The cheap stock that's on there is a huge black mark against it for me.
