Can't tell in the pic it's too dark. Usually under the rear scope mount if it's there. anyway, good find for you. I like the 5 and 6 digit serial numbered R700s. I can see it's a short action, what caliber?

Just a side note. That thing is in rough shape. Too much blue wearing and rust spots on it. I mean I use my rifles, but that one has more wear than my '64 and it's been re-barreled three times now. Mine was a .243 as well. there was no rifling left in the barrel, which is why the guy sold it.

I’ve had it for a few years mostly sat in the safe, just recently getting into hunting rifles, probably would trade this off at some point. Can’t remember what I gave exactly but it was in the neighborhood of 400
