OK. I'll join in. I've got a very nice 700 in .270 Winchester in a Boyd's after market laminated stock with Pentax 4-12x40 that I could be persuaded to part with!
Any chance it's left handed? Figure worth a try!
These show the rechambering to 308 from 762/39. I had him build this for me to prove a good bolt gun in 762/39 would out shoot a black rifle the guy had in 300 black out. He had spent over 1200 on his blackout build so I was not to go over that in this build. It smoked the 300. That was in a wood stock too.
After that I bought a Howa 762/39 a d had him rechamber this to 308. The chambering was very easy as both had 762 in common. I then added this Stockys stock full aluminum bar stock. The rifle shoots far better than I can shot. It’s heavy with the Shilen Target barrel but at 19 1/2 inch barrel it’s not bad to carry.
The barrel is stainless BT I had it and the action ceracoated . Trigger is a shade under 2# and hand has been worked by him to make stock trigger a dandy.
I also have som 308 ammo I could throw in at a bargain price. Will ck to see what I have.
I have 1400 + in this rifle. Will take 950 for it or trade it for a quality shotgun.
