I’m another proud of a Sig P-6 (My first Sig ever) Thanks Mike.
Here is an article I ran across about the P-6. It also mentions the reasons for the curled hammer and the spring weights.

I did one for my childhood buddy; he still has it. What bargains they wereYou did 2 for me and put on a nice cerakote. Wish I would of kept at least 1 of them...
Hey, thanks, I’m going to order an 18lb one and check out the Graysgun SRT. I got the P6 years ago in a group buy with Accurate Iron and he Cerakoted the slide and checked it out. I think for a 1979 pistol it’s in good shape, feeds any type of ammo including hollow points, no FTF and doesn’t look half bad for a 41 year old pistol. I like it. I’ll let you know how it works out. It’s good to know I can put an 18lb in and get 100% ignition. Thanks for the information.Very nice looking P6.
I believe that the factory mainspring weight is 24 lbs on a P6 while the P225 is supposedly 18 lbs. 22 or 24 lbs on the replacement springs is overkill...most people run 18 or 19 lbs with 100% ignition. Throw an 18 lb mainspring, Grayguns SRT, with a C&S sear spring and you'll have a great 3 lb SA / 10 lb DA trigger.
Hey thanks for the tip.Oh yes. Clamp that sucker in a bench vise, compress it w needle nose vise grips so the hole is clear then use pliers to press the pin in
Welcome to the club, It was my first one too. I’ll check out the article too.I’m another proud of a Sig P-6 (My first Sig ever) Thanks Mike.

My P6 has old style assembly. They switched to a newer style later on which looks like a piece of cake.Is the replacement process that much different in a P6 than a P226? I swapped the spring in one of my 226 a few years ago and I don’t remember it being that big of a challenge.

I’m sure that explains it! I think one of mine is 1992-1993 and the other was from 1995.
