I have a couple .243 rifles and use the 87 V-Max.
You can get pretty good velocity from those 3050 easy and up to 3300 but 3150 fps will match the drop of a 2700fps 6.5 CM with 140 ELDM to 1000 yards
319" drop for the 6.5 at 2700fps and 312" drop for the .243 at 3150 fps.
Drift for the 140 would be less with 10 MPH cross wind 67" vs 103"
I would try some 87 V-Max bullets in the .243 and see if it gets the job done if you have not already.
.400 BC on those but they shoot so good.
