If at all possible, save your kids from using something made in China. My latest rimfire, a CZ 457 .22 WMR, pairs nicely with a Vortex Viper PST 3-15x44 from the Philippines.
I got the rifle but, that scope is higher than the price of the CZ457. I've never had that high quality of a scope and wondered if it's worth it. Academy no longer has the scopes displayed. I miss that.

Recently picked up a Savage Mark II FV SR and now I am exploring scope and ring options. A lot of options out there. Use will mostly be punching paper and small silhouette targets. Looking for something reasonably priced. Some of the ones I have been looking at are listed below.

Bushnell Banner 2 4x12x40
Vortex Crossfire II Rimfire 2-7x32
Vortex Diamondback 4x12x40
Leopold VX-Freedom 3x9x40

Any feedback on the ones listed or other suggested options? Don’t want an overly complicated reticle because while I will be using it so will my 11 year daughter and 10 year old son.

Thanks,

David
You might look at the Leupold Ultralight 4x rimfire, it meets VX2 optical standards...I use the same in the now apparently discontinued 2.5x, bright and clear, better than eyes in low light. Very light and rugged scopes, and using light Weaver low rings, you'd likely not be adding much past 10oz to gun, total....with the 2.5x I came in under 9oz total, keeping a light rimfire still light and fun.
