Rimfire shot shells

I was wondering, is there anyone on this forum who has ever used one of these cartridges to actually KILL SOMETHING? If so, rifle or handgun, what,and at what distance,also capsule or crimped? The reason I ask is that my experence with them has not been good, but then, maybe its just me. Any replies, I would truly appreciate.

I have used both he crimped and capsule versions of the 22LR shotshells in a S&W 63 revolver for shooting water snakes at ca. 5 ft. aiming for the head. With the larger snakes it ususally takes a second shot.

I used both as a Kid for Pigeon Control in our Barns. They DO save wholes in the Roof.

I have winchesrter #12 shotshells and they work fine in bolt gun and barn rats and snakes out to about 10 feet.
