I've got plans to see it in Lawton tomorrow night. If I can still stay up that late....
You cannot imagine how completely SHOCKING the original production was to those of us old enough to remember. Unimaginable in 1975. A TRANSVESTITE? As the main character!! Oh my Lord, Martha, what are they doing to our kids? HELL NO, you can't go see THAT!!! I snuck out and saw it at midnite anyway. Really tame stuff now.
I used to go the the Rocky Horror Picture show routinely in Gainseville, Florida when it first ran.
Always midnight shows. Always a blast.
Last time I went, I wore a bathrobe (Brad)and my brother went as Rocky (use your imagination).
Sat next to a girl dressed as Dr. Frankenfurter. Asked her where she got the parts of the costume and she said she had it all before the movie came out.
And, Damn, I was literally leaving town in 8 hours.
One thing that I found out is that the audience participation is different in different areas.
