ruger 22/45 opinions?

I like both. But I think for me the deciding factor would be (owning neither, only have experience with 22/45) would be the availability of aftermarket parts. I just never can leave my guns alone.

I still don't understand why no one builds the grip frame for the 22/45 separately. You could build a non Ruger 22/45.

I agree. That is the one thing I really don't like about the ruger.
I have seen a couple sites with instructions on drilling and adding grips,
but I am not comfortable drilling a hole in it.

They make a model now with the removable grip panels.


I found that the 22/45 grip was much thinner than a 1911. The Buckmark fit my hand better.

No it doesn't. There is one that comes with 1911 panels that runs about $357. check them out at hi-desertdog.com; they did the threading on my gun that is coming in. They also do all sort of buyer supplied barrels, their own rifle and handgun barrels etc/
