I don't give many newly released guns a second look nowadays, even less so if it's a long gun, as I'm more than covered for all I use them for. Except for this one. I actually picked up a cheap, used 10/22 a year or so back to "build" off of; and as usual, I've done a lot of window shopping online in that vast world of 10/22 aftermarket goodies, to the point I was more confused on what I should get than before the project thought even entered my mind.

So a couple of weeks ago, this new gun popped up on the Ruger FB page. Once I looked into the details, I knew this was pretty much what I wanted to "build", except someone done it for me. It has the threaded carbon fiber barrel; the BX 22 trigger; Magpul stock; and extended mag release. So I dove right in, ordered one from PSA (after verifying no local shops had one).

I can already tell this Nikon 3-9 I had lying around is not the choice I will stick with, but it made a decent placeholder for now. The trigger hasn't been checked with a gauge yet, but is very good to me. I weighed it last night, came in at 4 lb 11.75 oz with scope mounted and suppressor screwed on. (Ruger states 3.5 lbs out of the box) These 10 shot groups are using CCI SV at around 40', standing off tripod. Not enough time/daylight to get serious today, plus still deciding on scope, but it already does fine in my book! Think I'm going to enjoy it!

We have a small local shop that sells Riton scopes, and I ended up getting a 4-16x44 scope to put on my new 10/22. Ran up to Butch's yesterday for some range therapy with my wife, daughter and boyfriend, plus a buddy from NE TX panhandle. Got it zeroed decently at 15-20 yards, good starting place at least. These are my last 5 shots.

Nice set-up. What suppressor do you run? Liking the Riton 4-16, and is that what you were looking for in the first post-more magnification?

I bought mine a couple weeks ago and put a red dot on top, then my son and I was at a store and picked up a 3-9 cheaper Vortex to try out too. Hopefully it will be enough for my old eyes😀. If not will go back to red dot until I do find what will work. Funny how stupid light b these rifles are right out b of the box. I need to get v more standard velocity 22lr too.

I have a SiCo Warlock, just a cheap one. Haven't tried it on this 10/22 yet though. I wasn't really looking for a bigger scope, but could get this one for around $40 more than the 3-9.
